Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Renaissance Theater, Tuscany Falls Clubhouse

The Wall: A Pulitzer Prize Winner

During his presidential campaign, President Donald Trump promised to build a 'big, beautiful wall.' Could a wall actually be built along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico line, and what would it mean for our border security? More than 30 journalists from 'The Arizona Republic' and USA Today Network set out to find answers.

We'll get a first-hand look at the Pulitzer Prize-winning project, when Dennis Wagner, a senior reporter, shares how the project came into being and what was found.

The journalists flew the entire border in helicopters and studied it from all perspectives. They interviewed victims of border violence, ranchers, smugglers, Border Patrol agents, immigrants, environmentalists, engineers and scores of others. The Pulitzer committee lauded the project for 'vivid and timely reporting that masterfully combined text, video, podcasts, and virtual reality to examine. . . the difficulties and unintended consequences of fulfilling President Trump's pledge.'

Premier Lectures are held in the Renaissance Theater at 7 p.m. Tickets to all Premier Lectures are $15 per person and may be purchased as of Oct. 1 online, before any Monday Morning Lecture, or at the LLL Center during office hours.
